DIARY: MP adds spark to fundraising dinner

The Banqueting House in Whitehall provided the majestic setting for last week's Ronald McDonald Children's Charities inaugural fundraising dinner.

Guest speaker was the very wry honourable William Hague, but the night's brightest moment came undoubtedly on the table shared by Bell Pottinger Public Affairs and PRWeek in the shape of Nick Brown MP.

Upon learning his nomination as table leader for the raffle draw, the Blair bacon-saver (were top-up fees really that long ago?) accidently managed to set his napkin alight on one of the candles.

Priceless.
