Mantra PR to plug Prevx software

Computer security firm Prevx has brought in Mantra PR to handle the launch of software it claims can protect computer users from initial attacks by hackers and worm viruses.

The company has hired the consumer and tech firm to promote 2.1 Enterprise at trade events and to IT journalists. The account is understood to be worth up to £70,000 a year.

Mantra is also charged with raising Prevx’s profile with financial analysts.

Business development director Ben Hayman said unlike conventional anti-virus packages, 2.1 Enterprise targets attacks on systems by monitoring the procedures used by hackers.

‘Zero-day attacks – first-time hacker or virus attacks – can cause a lot of damage before anyone knows how to deal with them. This software looks for key patterns in the way an attack takes place,’ said Hayman.
