London councils target residents

Communications staff at the London Boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow have teamed up to produce two new residents’ magazines to help communicate messages and services.

The fortnightly titles – hfm (Hammersmith & Fulham Magazine) and hm (Hounslow Magazine) – are the result of the first cross-borough publishing partnership.

London Borough of Hounslow leader John Chatt said: ‘It opens doors for us to look at how we can use our magazines to work more closely together to promote other cross-borough issues such as community cohesion or health.’

Both magazines are funded by commercial and public sector advertising and reach all 200,000 homes in the boroughs. They are also being distributed in doctors’ surgeries, libraries, and shopping and information centres.
