Sony Music press chief Fysh exits

The director of press at Sony Music, the record company that is planning to merge with Bertelsmann’s BMG, has left the company.

Carl Fysh, who was unavailable for comment, is understood to have left after around seven years at the firm, in which time he held a variety of press office roles.

The remaining members of Sony’s UK press office, understood to have around six staff, declined to comment on Fysh’s departure or speculate on a successor.

Sony Music vice-president communications Gary Farrow would only confirm that Fysh – once a member of the late-1980s band Brother Beyond – had left the company.

Sony and Bertelsmann agreed to merge their music businesses last month. The deal awaits approval from the European Commission.
