The company has shifted focus away from the commercial, nuclear and aviation underwriting sectors towards retail motor insurance.
Hogarth partner Rachel Hirst said the contract, worth £85,000, is for corporate and financial PR. It will involve media relations around the company’s financial calendar, advice on the company’s reputation and its relationship with City analysts.
‘We will be looking at broadening the analyst following among the new generation of broking houses, which are focused on servicing small- and mid-caps,’ she said. ‘Our job is all about getting the company’s message out to shareholders.’
The account will be led by Hirst and John Olsen, two of Hogarth’s six partners, who will report to Cox executive chairman Peter Owen.
Cox is the UK’s biggest motorcycle insurer and the eighth-largest motor insurer, with a market capitalisation of around £250m.
