MEDIA: MacUser poaches PCW deputy editor

MacUser magazine has appointed Nik Rawlinson as editor. He joins from Personal Computer World, where he served as deputy editor for three years, and replaces Ian Betteridge who has now gone freelance.

'MacUser is an ideal platform for PR companies, as it's fortnightly and can get news about new products out much quicker than our monthly rivals,' said Rawlinson. 'It also has a strong reputation for producing the most trusted editorial content and can draw together allied products in a given field'.

The Dennis Publishing title reaches over 50,600 readers with core groups working in publishing and media.

'MacUser is at the heart of the UK Mac community and appeals to tech PR firms,'explained Karen Harvey, publisher of MacUser.

'Nik's background is in the PC magazine market, but his excellent technical knowledge and contacts will bring a fresh perspective,' she added.

Rawlinson began his career as a freelance technical writer and has also presented ITN's weekly technology and internet programme The Lab.
