DIARY: Off the hoof idea to raise awareness of Green

In an effort to make punters more aware of the dark arts of spin and propaganda, Wakefield PR shop Green has set up a recording of two cows that moo at passers-by five minutes before each hour.

Andy Green, a director of the Wakefield Media and Creativity Centre, and of Green itself, says the stunt by Californian artist Jay Jones is designed to 'inspire others to think we should get our buildings to do more, to make more of a statement about themselves and the world that's around them'.

The sound of two cows lowing, followed by the chime of Wakefield Town Hall's clock, must certainly pose a challenge to staff in the middle of that tricky press release or difficult phone call, and no doubt inspires the hacks on the end of the line.

We can only guess what the people of Wakefield make of Green's cow 'statement'.
