Gulf Air appoints Four to boost its business image

Gulf Air begins a PR drive next month aimed at promoting the airline and the region to businesses and travellers.

The airline, the national carrier of Bahrain, Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) and Oman, has appointed Four Communications to take over from CIB pr on 1 November. CIB has held the account for the past two years.

Gulf Air corporate communications manager Anne Tullis said Four had been enlisted to bolster the airline’s profile in the business community. She said it would handle PR around the carrier’s sponsorship of next April’s Bahrain Grand Prix, the first F1 race to be staged in the Middle East.

Four Communications head of consumer Steve Gebbett and associate Christine Jewel will lead the account, awarded for an initial year.

Meanwhile, travel PR shop Brighter PR is working on the launch of Malaysian Airlines’ two new routes to the Langkawi and Penang resorts.
