Cowell stays with MCA to promote presenting work

Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell has extended his contract with Max Clifford Associates (MCA) as he seeks to further promote his entertainment work across TV and music.

MCA, which has already been working with Cowell for the last two years, has now agreed a three-year extension.

Agency founder Max Clifford said while Cowell had already made his name as a record producer, the aim now was to continue promoting his TV work, both production and presenting, in the UK and US.

This latest move comes a week after it was revealed that MCA had given advice to suspended London Borough of Waltham Forest council leader Tony Buckley. Clifford stressed that this was a one-off piece of unpaid advice (PRWeek, 8 August).
