Consultation task tender for Dorset police force looms

Dorset Police Authority is hunting for an agency to carry out community consultation activities – a contract worth more than £150,000 a year.

Applicants will be fielded for a three-year contract to handle consultation on issues such as concern over policing levels, community support for policing and identifying areas for improvement.

The account is currently handled by Swansea-based research consultancy Opinion Research Services.

Tender details for the consultation activity will be sent to a handful of selected applicants. Purchasing and contracts manager Brian Hallett will oversee the recruitment of an agency.

The authority is looking for a PR consultancy that can handle ‘a variety of survey methodologies and focus groups’, and ‘provide scope for alternative and innovative consultative options’.

Shortlisted agencies are not expected to be seen until October at the earliest.
