OPINION: PRWeek launches Reputation Monitor

PRWeek introduces a new monthly feature this week examining the media exposure and reputations of leading companies in the UK marketplace.

The Reputation Monitor, which is being compiled for PRWeek by Thomson Intermedia, will provide a regular snapshot of corporate reputations in the UK business press. This new ranking of quoted and unquoted companies takes into account a combination of volume of coverage, visibility, positivity and readership, before aggregating its analysis into a user-friendly National News Index points system.

While the ranking of companies provides a fascinating insight into corporate fortunes, particularly when set in the context of current company development, it also reveals a lot about the media agenda - i.e. papers love big brands with big market caps, reputations soar as much when a bid is fought off as when it succeeds, and if you want to maintain your positive profile, there is no substitute for constant proactive communications.
