Grey joins as the agency's director of comms to lead a fresh wave of campaigning. This includes targeting patients and medical staff in a bid to encourage reporting of incidents and what Grey calls 'near misses'.
Grey's first task is to develop the agency's first media relations function.
In the interim, she has hired Citigate Communications to handle this brief. Previous comms activity focused on publications, web design and strategy.
Grey is the first permanent comms director at the NPSA since the departure of Steve Wedgewood last year.
She was previously communications director at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, now Cancer Reserch UK.
