Scardino to head Broadgate's new office for Europe

John Scardino has been appointed to lead New York-based Broadgate Consultants' recently opened European headquarters in London.

He has worked as an independent PR consultant in London for two years, after coming to the UK for family reasons.

Scardino's experience includes more than 20 years in PR, specialising mainly in the business publishing sector, along with stints at Ogilvy & Mather and Fleishman-Hillard company Greer, Margolis, Mitchell and Burns and Associates.

Scardino says his public policy and business publishing background - with clients including former GE chairman Jack Welch - does not coincide exactly with Broadgate's speciality of private equity, capital markets and corporate positioning.

But he stressed that his main role will be to co-ordinate and oversee work with partner agencies such as The Maitland Consultancy.
