PUBLIC SECTOR: Councils seek an agency for waste work in Grampian

Councils in the Grampian area of north-east Scotland are on the hunt for agency support for a waste awareness campaign to launch later this year.

Aberdeenshire Council, Aberdeen City Council and The Moray Council are seeking agency assistance for the first three years of their Waste Aware campaign.

Aberdeenshire Council waste section marketing and promotions officer Ian Doylesaid: 'It's not just about waste awareness, it's about behavioural change, that's an important part of the brief.'

He added that if possible one agency may be hired to handle PR, advertising and education campaigning, but a range of agencies covering different parts of the brief will be considered.

So far £700,000 of funding has already been allocated for the first year of the campaign.

Household waste is the focus but the brief does include communicating to the business community. An appointment is expected next month.
