DIY giant names Communique to raise awareness

Focus Wickes - the DIY giant formed by the merger of Focus Do It All, Wickes and Great Mills - has named northern PR firm Communique as its consumer and corporate PR agency.

Communique won the brief after a pitch believed to have included incumbent Band & Brown Communications, London-based Camron PR and BMA Communications.

The agency will develop a comms programme for the Focus and Wickes brands, raising awareness among their target audiences.

Communique MD Nathalie Bagnall - promoted from director last December - leads a team of ten, reporting to Focus Wickes group PR and communications controller Anthea Fosti.

Fosti said the consumer element will focus on increasing footfall at both chains nationwide, while the corporate brief will be run in close collaboration with the firm's City PR agency Hudson Sandler.
