Booth has taken the newly created role of international corporate comms director. This role was previously covered by US-based Barbara S Brogliatti, senior V-P and chief corporate comms officer and Scott Rowe, vice president of communications.
A Warner insider said that because PR efforts had concentrated on film and consumer PR there had been less emphasis on corporate PR in the region.
There was also concern at corporate PR being dealt with from outside the region. The insider added: 'The time difference is eight hours - that's a whole working day.'
Booth worked for Warner Brothers while a consultant at Brunswick, which has carried out projects for the firm.
Warner Brothers in Europe currently has no retained corporate PR support.
It is understood that Booth is not looking to hire retained support and is expected to carry on using firms on a project basis.
