PUBLIC SECT0R: Merseyside fund for housing seeks comms manager

The Merseyside Housing Market Renewal Fund Partnership, set up to combat housing problems in the area, is on the hunt for its first comms manager.

The regeneration partnership, a link-up between Liverpool City and Sefton and Wirral borough councils, is one of nine pathfinders set up by the Government last year.

The comms manager, being sought alongside an MD and programme and finance manager after initial funding was received last year, will develop the body's first comms and consultation strategy. The job also includes co-ordinating media events across the three authorities and national promotion.

David Bowen, Wirral's principle officer, said the main aim of the PR work was to make sure investment continues in the project. Target audiences include private sector landlords and those living in communities of high social deprivation.

Further funding for the pathfinders is expected to be announced by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister within weeks.
