LDA head of communications, marketing and public affairs Morag Wood said: 'We need to make businesses more aware of programmes that will benefit them, and the support we can offer.'
When the LDA was set up in July 2000 it inherited a number of regeneration schemes, such as the Single Regeneration Budget and the Skills Development Fund.
The LDA will manage the completion of these programmes as it takes a greater role in commissioning economic renewal programmes.
Wood added that PR would be stepped up to 'raise our profile so businesses can benefit from us and understand what funding is available'.
The deadline for agencies to register an interest in the PR pitch process is next week, with the roster compiled 'by the spring', according to Wood.
