WSSM is selected for Tullett & Tokyo hostile bid comms

Broking firm Tullett & Tokyo Liberty is to step up its comms surrounding a hostile bid from stockbroking firm Collins Stewart using Weber Shandwick Square Mile.

WSSM director Reg Hoare leads the account, reporting to Tullett CEO Bruce Collins and chief financial officer Stephen Jack.

Hoare said WSSM was handling all financial PR surrounding the takeover approach, which was first reported two weeks ago, and was also preparing a PR strategy for a possible IPO within the next year.

Hoare said Tullett had been planning to hire a financial PR agency for some months, pending its IPO, which has been delayed due to adverse stock market conditions.

Hoare said WSSM was handling reactive and proactive media work for Tullett, which has no in-house press office but has retained Stronghold PR for corporate comms support for two years.
