DIARY: Journalists furious over Lisson gallery 'opening'

Lifestyle shop Brower Lewis Pelham last week organised the opening of the inaugural exhibition at the Lisson art gallery's extension. Furious critics wanting to view the art arrived to find no-one from the gallery or BLP to greet them, and the front of the gallery covered by a corrugated iron sheet

'The artist (Santiago Sierra) is against publicity and doesn't want things explained. He likes people to think about his work,' says BLP director Jasmin Pelham. There's thinking, then there's standing in the rain.
