INTERNATIONAL: Egg to appoint PR head in France as it plans for launch

PARIS: Egg - Prudential's online banking arm - has launched a hunt to find its first PR chief for France.

The bank has hired headhunting firms to fill the newly created post of senior head of PR (France) ahead of the launch of its first financial product for the French market, due out before the end of the year.

Egg corporate comms head Emma Byrne said the Paris-based role will report into Egg France CEO Olivier de Montety, alongside herself.

Byrne hopes to fill the post in the next couple of months, followed by a supporting team of up to three press officers.

On the creation of the role, Byrne added: 'France, in terms of internet banking, is where the UK was four years ago and is in a period of enormous growth potential, so it's important to build credibility there moving forward.'

Egg will create 1,000 jobs in France by the end of 2004 to lead the online banking sector.
