Fujitsu Consulting picks FPH to help build global profile

Fox Parrack Hirsch has won a six-figure PR account from Fujitsu Consulting as the rebranded tech company seeks to build a global profile.

Fujitsu Consulting was created after the Japanese group's acquisition of DMR Consulting last year. Elements of the operations of the UK computer manufacturer ICL, which the company had acquired previously, are also incorporated.

Agency PR director Louise Parkes said: 'We have been tasked with implementing a corporate brand-building campaign. It is about building the company to compete with the top tier of global consultants such as IBM, Accenture and KPMG.'

The consultancy has 9,000 staff around the world working in 70 offices.

It offers IT, business and e-consultancy, focusing on the communications, financial services and government sectors.

Parkes said the work would involve media relations in the nationals, the IT and management consultancy media.

'We will also be doing visibility profiling with things such as speaker opportunities and round-tables,' she added.

The business was awarded following a pitch against Firefly, which continues to handle PR for Fujitsu Services - the IT services company born out of ICL.

Fox Parrack Hirsch, which previously handled PR for DMR Consulting, will report to Fujitsu Consulting marketing director Martin Caddick.
