S&N searches for PA chief to lead an international push

FTSE 100 brewing giant Scottish and Newcastle (S%26N) is on the hunt for a public affairs chief to lead its international PA efforts.

The group - owner of lager brands Fosters and Kronenbourg - is searching for a successor to Philip Rycroft, who has returned to his post as head of schools at the Scottish Executive after an 18-month secondment to S&N.

Rycroft was seconded to S&N following the departure of Chris Lowe to PricewaterhouseCoopers in January 2001.

S&N director of corporate affairs Jeremy Blood said: 'We need somebody to set S&N's PA agenda and the priorities within that and through our international business and links with the trade associations, deliver the agenda with key opinion-formers and stakeholders in Brussels and Westminster.'

Formerly strategy and marketing director for S&N Retail, Blood took on the top comms role four months ago in place of Richard Gibb, now S&N export division MD

S&N is also this week launching a £15m PR, marketing and advertising effort to revamp its French brand Kronenbourg.

The group hired Scottish PR agency 3x1 last month to lead the UK consumer brand PR campaign.
