DIARY: Taylor Herring jumps on Ulrika bandwagon for Go England cup single

If there's one thing the PR industry has always done well, it's jumping on every bandwagon under the sun.

But images of the PR stunt staged by Virgin Radio to back the launch of the England football team's official World Cup single suggest that it is now also a legitimate communications strategy to jump on an already departed bandwagon.

Images (for example, see above) of a balding Scandinavian man and a younger blonde woman in a car have been circulated by the station's PR adviser, Taylor Herring Public Relations.

The pictures are, of course, a joke based on England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson's alleged dalliance with TV star and former weather-girl Ulrika Jonsson.

The images are aimed at attracting attention to the single, titled Go England, released next week ahead of the tournament's start at the end of the month.

Still, the models seem quite fitting to the task: most pundits having already written off the Ant and Dec-sung ditty as a pale imitation of a decent World Cup song.
