PUBLIC SECTOR: Telford and Wrekin Council in hunt to fill top PR position

Telford and Wrekin Council is set to launch a hunt for its first head of customer strategy and communications.

The post has been created to oversee all PR and corporate comms work as well as to drive through the council's e-governance programme.

The work was previously overseen by director of community government Sheila Healy.

Operational control of PR will continue to be handled by the corporate comms manager. The council is also seeking to fill this post, following the decision by Jacquie Anglin to quit to take up consultancy work.

Anglin heads a 17-strong team that, following a restructure last April, includes design and publications staff. This year web design was added to the corporate comms manager's role.

Robert Cragg, head of personnel and development, said: 'E-governance is something that we are taking forward here and we believe that this is the management structure to best achieve that.'
