Marcoms role for Russell in Ernst & Young PR revamp

Ernst & Young has reshuffled its top tier of communicators following former marcoms chief Derek McLaughlan's move to a client-facing role.

The accounting giant has scrapped McLaughlan's role as marketing director, splitting his post between corporate marcoms and marketing strategy.

Former head of media relations Kevin Russell takes the role of UK director of corporate marketing and comms, heading the group's 45-strong comms team.

Ernst & Young is on the hunt for a director of marketing strategy to handle the remainder of McLaughlan's former responsibilities.

Reporting to Ernst & Young UK managing partner Nick Pasricha, Russell now oversees media relations, advertising, corporate marketing and sponsorship, market research and client care, design and presentation services, websites, events management, and contact and relationship management.

Russell is not being replaced as head of media relations and will continue to lead that function.
