Watch: Ancestry tests a whole village's DNA in campaign with Third City

Third City tested the genetic heritage of residents of a quintessentially English village in the Cotswolds for its client, genealogy and family history company Ancestry.

The results revealed that the small rural location is, in the words of the Mail Online, "actually a hotbed of diversity" with residents having DNA from 18 different parts of the world and the average villager being just 42 per cent British in genetic terms.

The Mail story has garnered 1,600 shares and 1,900 comments, while a number of other national newspapers' websites also covered the story, as did local paper Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard, MSN, Yahoo and others also covered the news. It was also featured on BBC Breakfast on Saturday.
