Sakita Holley started House of Success PR as a mostly pro-bono business to help on-campus organizations and local businesses and to supplement her experience between internships. The part-time project has become a full-fledged agency that develops and executes strategic media campaigns while providing brand and social media strategy and management, influencer marketing, and event production services.

Clients have ranged from March of Dimes and Harlem Arts Festival to fine jewelry company Wendy Brandes Jewelry and Revlon-owned consumer product brand Lottabody.

Concerned with the way multicultural consumers were treated by brands at retail and in marketing messages, Holley created the agency’s beauty division in 2013 with the goal of working on brands of all sizes to elevate the overall brand-to-consumer experience through authentic and direct dialogue on social media, influencer engagement, and consumer and media event activations.

Her campaign to help Revlon rebrand Lottabody and launch its first new product range in more than five years included the launch of the brand’s social media accounts, which gained more than 70,000 fans in two-and-a-half years. The campaign created a new beauty industry standard for consumer product launches and contributed to a year-over-year sales increase of more than 55% for the brand at retail.

In 2015, Holley created the Hashtags and Stilettos podcast aimed at helping millennial women win at work, in business, and everywhere in between. On the podcast, which is currently streaming on iTunes and Soundcloud, she provides career and business advice from a PR perspective, and she interviews successful executives and entrepreneurs such as real estate mogul Adenah Bayoh, PR Couture’s Crosby Noricks, CurlBox founder Myleik Teele.

The podcast has been downloaded more than 100,000 times and has been featured in the Women’s Business Journal, Essence, Bust, and Black Enterprise, among others. It has consistently ranked on the top 100 business podcast chart in iTunes, peaking at number 11.

  • Holley served as a panelist at events held by the Council of PR Firms, Google, National Action Network, and the Benchmark Creative Group.
  • She has been a guest lecturer at both Howard University and Morgan State University.
