New role for ex-Ketchum Pleon Germany boss

Dirk Popp, formerly the CEO of Ketchum's German operation Ketchum Pleon, has become global head of corporate comms at mapping and location services firm Here. He left Ketchum last year when its three German brands were consolidated into one entity, having been with Pleon since 2004. It was merged with Ketchum in 2009. Popp had worked for Here on a consultancy basis for several months. The firm is backed by Audi, BMW, Daimler and Intel, and has 7,000 staff across various sites in Berlin, the US and elsewhere.

Grocery box firm Gousto hires Forge

The Forge Communications has been appointed by recipe box home-delivery service Gousto for an issues management brief in the UK, following a competitive pitch against two agencies. Gousto appointed the agency following a review of its reputation management and crisis handling in the food sector. It is the first time Gousto, which also has an in-house PR team, has appointed an agency for crisis work. The account win strengthens the agency’s food-and-drink client roster, having won snack bar brand, KIND and yoghurt brand, The Collective Dairy, as well supermarket supplier Kingsland Drinks since October.

Tin Man ordered for Funkin Cocktails

Drinks firm AG Barr has appointed Tin Man to launch a new range of purpose-built cocktail shakers for its Funkin Cocktails brand of mixers. The shakers come in three flavours, and will be launched with an integrated campaign involving PR, digital and out-of-home activations. Funkin Cocktails was launched in the late 1990s and acquired by AG Barr in 2015 in a deal reportedly worth up to £21m.

Ex-Chime chief launches women’s sport agency

Emma Lax, former head of women’s sport and lifestyle at Chime-owned CSM Sport and Entertainment, has launched We Are Disrupt, a sports marketing agency specialising in women's sport. Lax said she would support rights holders and brands in thinking differently about women's sport to target new audiences and develop better marketing and activation strategies. The team also includes rugby player-turned-marketeer Morgan Davis, former Saatchi & Saatchi creative strategist Ellie Moss, and journalist Lulu Le Vay.

Fox books in for Ibiza launch

Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay has appointed luxury comms agency Fox PR as its representative for the UK market. The 152-room property opens on 30 June and has more than 30 restaurants. It will be Nobu Hospitality's 10th hotel.

Nudge PR wins popcorn brief

Metcalfe's skinny has appointed Nudge PR to handle UK consumer PR to support its 'Pop it like it's Metcalfe's' campaign. The popcorn brand was acquired by Kettle Chips owner Kettle Foods last year. Its campaign is led by advertising on TV and digital media through March and April.

Lecico taps up 8848

Midlands-based agency 8848 has been appointed to handle consumer and trade PR for Lecico Bathrooms. Bedford-based Lecico exports to more than 50 countries worldwide. The agency will manage its media relations, and provide digital content and support.

New hires and new names for Chaz Brooks

Surrey b2b agency Chaz Brooks Communications has renamed itself as brookscomm, and also taken on new operations manager Jo McKenzie, new digital marketing manager Michael Bull and Nirvana Wright as a social media expert.
