Taylor Herring hired for Strictly event

Events company SME London in partnership with BBC Worldwide has hired communications agency Taylor Herring to launch a brand-new live event called Strictly Come Dancing: The Spectacular. Taylor Herring will handle press office and creative activations for the event which will take place in London's ExCel Centre in June.

Carver PR hires Strong In alumnus

Carver PR, the agency best known for its work with fitness guru Joe Wicks, has taken on Tom Harverson as a senior publicist. He joins from Blue Rubicon where clients included Facebook, RBS and Disney. He also last year spent six months on secondment with Britain Stronger In Europe, leading on the campaign's consumer press across broadcast, print and online. He and Carver founder Megan Carver first worked together at The Outside Organisation where Megan was MD and Tom a publicist in the corporate division.

Which? hires head of news from LGA

The consumer group and charity Which? has hired Cherie Willers to the post of head of news. She will report to new director of campaigns and comms Vickie Sheriff, and succeeds Abbie Sampson, who left at the start of the year to join energy industry group Energy UK as external affairs chief. Willers will join in April from the Local Government Association where she was head of news and internal communications for five years, and prior to that worked at Westminster City Council. 

PrettyGreen hires from Dixons Carphone

The agency PrettyGreen has taken on Alice Caldwell as client service director. She arrives from Dixons Carphone, where she was a senior PR manager, prior to which she worked at M&C Saatchi PR and Mischief. Caldwell will work on brands including Nintendo, Virgin Media and MaxiMuscle, reporting to joint MD Emma Grace, and comms director Sarah Henderson.

H+K mines Fleishman data director

Hill+Knowlton Strategies has hired Allison Adams to lead its data an insights team in London. She joins H+K from FleishmanHillard Fishburn, where she was director of insights and planning and EMEA lead for research and analytics, working for clients including Thomson Reuters, PwC and Fitbit.

JPES hired by asset manager

Investment marketing and comms firm JPES Partners has been chosen to deliver UK media relations services for Kempen Capital Management, an asset management and fiduciary management firm owned by Dutch bank Kempen & Co.

Yoga Babies win for KPPR

Entertainment PR agency KPPR has been appointed by children's publisher Andersen Press to handle the publicity for new children’s picture book Yoga Babies. The book, written by TV and radio presenter and yoga enthusiast Fearne Cotton, will be released in September.
