Porter Novelli hires health director

Porter Novelli has hired Matthew Foster as director of its health & wellness practice in London. Prior to joining Porter Novelli, Foster was senior communications manager at pharmaceutical business AbbVie. He reports to Nicole Yost, head of health & wellness at Porter Novelli London.

Conscious launches games network

PR and marketing agency Conscious Communications has launched Cambridge Games – a network that allows teachers to connect with experts in the game development and technology industries. The agency is one of the founding partners of the network, which will also support teachers and students as they prepare to take part in digitial industry event FXP Festival 2017.

Finn appoints Volovitch for Paris

Finn Partners, the 27th largest PR agency globally, has appointed Mina Volovitch as the head of its Paris office, and has made her senior partner in its global health practice. Volovitch has more than 20 years of experience in health communications, working for the likes of Bristol Myers-Squibb, Novartis and Roche. She will report to managing partner Chantal Bowman-Boyles, who leads Finn Partners Europe and managing partner Gil Bashe, who leads the agency’s global health division.

Reputation boss tackles youth crime

Graham Read, partner at communications consultancy The Reputation, has been appointed communications advisor for Met-Track, a youth diversion scheme based in London that offers young people the attraction, discipline and focus of sport to deter them away from a life of crime. Read, who was previously comms director at engineering and construction company Costain Group, launched The Reputation alongside former Instinctif managing partner Tim Dunnell in September.

Palm wins crisps brand

Food & drink communications agency Palm PR has been appointed by luxury crisps brand Savoursmiths, which has been launched by the family behind Russell Smith Farms. The agency won the brief following a five-way pitch, and will deliver a campaign across consumer, business and trade media to raise awareness of the brand throughout the UK. Palm PR has also been tasked with helping drive sales and increasing Savoursmiths' distribution network.

Spark called in by 3CX

Software-based telecoms business 3CX has appointed technology PR firm Spark Communications to handle its communications in the UK. Spark, the UK’s 132nd largest agency, has been tasked with driving influence and awareness to a wider enterprise IT and communications audience.
