Skoda appoints Frank as UK PR agency for 'biggest ever' car launch

Frank has been appointed to Skoda UK's PR roster, with its first job to handle what the firm says will be its biggest ever launch campaign, for the new seven-seater Kodiaq.

The Kodiaq - which Skoda's global CEO has described as a "brand changer" - launched at the Paris Motor Show, and will be available to customers from early 2017.

Frank, the UK's 42nd largest agency, said it would be the first of a number of product launches it would handle for the carmaker in 2017.

The Kodiaq itself will be available to UK customers from spring 2017.

Skoda UK had worked with Golley Slater for ten years until 2015, when it began a search for a new agency - Kindred was retained and helped launch its Superb model later that year.

Frank was appointed to the ongoing retainer following a competitive process that concluded in the summer. Work on the account began earlier this month. Skoda's longstanding ad agency is Fallon, and Kindred remains on its roster and will also play a role in the Kodiaq launch.

Frank founder Andrew Bloch will lead the creative element of the account, while strategy and insight will be led by MD Alex Grier.

Pietro Panarisi, head of press and PR for Skoda UK, said Frank "had a clear understanding of our industry and demonstrated a high degree of consumer insight".

Czech brand Skoda employs more than 26,000 people across the world, and delivered more than one million models to customers globally in 2015.
