WE Communications bolsters China leadership with Hunt and Cai

David Hunt has joined WE Communications as head of its operations in China, while Miranda Cai has moved from Fleishman to lead the company's Shanghai office as MD.

Formerly managing director of Publicis Digital (APAC), Hunt has over 25 years of experience in global comms and digital marketing. He will be based in Shanghai and report to Matthew Lackie, executive vice president, WE APAC.

Cai was previously general manager of FleishmanHillard in Shanghai and has also worked at Weber Shandwick and Edelman, as well as in-house government sector roles in China and North America.

WE clients in Shanghai include Blue Nile, Cargill, Etihad Airways, Villeroy & Boch and ZTE.

The two hires form part of the agency’s quest to foster a more powerful presence in greater China.

In March, former Edelman executive Alan VanderMolen was appointed APAC-EMEA president and earlier this year WE was named one of PRWeek Asia’s Best Places to Work in the medium-sized agency category.

In PRWeek’s 2016 Global Agency Business Report, WE was listed as the 20th largest PR firm in the world.
