Lansons hires from Bell Pottinger

Bell Pottinger associate partner Rollo Crichton-Stuart has been appointed as a board director at Lansons. He is tasked with strengthening the agency's financial comms offering. Crichton-Stuart's near six years at Bell Pottinger included two on secondment at Maersk Oil & Gas UK.

Pennon promotes IR chief to PR head

Pennon, the environmental infrastructure group that owns Viridor, South West Water and Bournemouth Water, has promoted head of investor relations Sarah Heald to the role of director of corporate affairs and investor relations. She joined the business in April last year, having previously worked for Finsbury, which remains Pennon's agency.

Middleton joins Celicourt

Celicourt Communications has appointed Ian Middleton as a partner. He also makes an investment in the company. Celicourt, which was launched by a former Bell Pottinger partner and Brunswick director 18 months ago, brought Middleton on board from Powerscourt, where he was head of industrials, energy and natural resources.

Rooster appoints creative director

Rooster has appointed Joe Thomas as its first creative director. Thomas, who led consumer PR at Virgin Media after a long spell at Brands2Life, joins Rooster’s senior team following recent client wins including Contura, Ecoffee Cup and Tianjin Airlines.

Peter Ross' new venture

Peter Ross, the former MD of Weber Shandwick's EMEA tech practice, has launched a content writing business, Ross Content Writing & Consulting. Ross was promoted to head Weber's tech team in 2012, and left the agency in March this year. He told PRWeek he would initially operate as a sole trader.

Maldon hires Wild Card

Wild Card has been appointed to handle social media for the Maldon Salt Company, which holds a royal warrant and was founded in 1882. The PRWeek UK Top 150 agency began work on the account on Friday.

Farrar-Smith to Manifest

Manifest has appointed Martin Farrar-Smith as branding and design director. He was previously at what is now know as Ilk, the agency which Manifest had partnered and shared a name with until July.

Larcombe joins Zest

Kent full service agency Zest has appointed former Sun royal correspondent and defence editor Duncan Larcombe as a director. He left The Sun in May after 19 years as a journalist to write a biography of Prince Harry for Harper Collins.
