SAN FRANCISCO: Bateman Group has named James Niccolai director of content and media strategy in an effort to expand the firm’s Content Studio capabilities.
Niccolai worked for IDG News Service for 20 years in editorial roles covering areas such as IT, enterprise tech, and IP law, according to his LinkedIn profile. The firm said in a statement that his hire will help it meet clients’ growing content needs.
Niccolai wasn’t immediately available for comment.
Starting in the role on October 3, he will work with enterprise, developer, and infrastructure technology clients. Niccolai’s expertise includes hardware, semiconductors, cloud services, artificial intelligence, and Big Data, the firm said in a statement.
Niccolai’s new role will reunite him with former IDG colleague Elinor Mills, the firm’s VP of content and media strategy. Previously a senior writer for CNET and CBS Interactive, Mills joined Bateman in 2012 as its first full-time content hire. She is now leading its Content Studio, which produced more than 500 pieces of content and 50 data campaigns for clients last year, the firm said in a statement.
Based in San Francisco, with a client roster made up of technology and consumer brands, Bateman posted a 28% jump in revenue growth to $8.6 million last year. It was also recognized with an honorable mention in the Small Agency of the Year category at the 2016 PRWeek Awards.
