King's Clark joins VC fund

Susannah Clark, who has spent the past two years at online gaming firm King, has joined venture capital fund EQT Ventures as comms partner. Clark had also previously worked at MoneySuperMarket and several agencies. EQT has offices in Stockholm, Amsterdam and London, and has committed nearly £500m in investments in start-ups including Oden Technologies, Holidu, Min Doktor and Wolt.

Smiths Group appoints FTI

Smiths Group, the FTSE 100 global technology company specialising in products and services for the threat and contraband detection, medical devices, energy and communications markets worldwide, has appointed FTI Consulting as its retained financial PR advisor. It has worked with Cardew Group in the past.

Huie wins BAME awards launch

Jessica Huie Public Relations has been appointed as the PR agency for a new awards ceremony celebrating the achievements of influential public figures from BAME backgrounds. Named the BEAM Awards, the black tie event will be hosted by Sir Trevor McDonald at the London Palladium on 12 October, and will be broadcast on ITV.

Hanover's Brussels hire

Hanover has appointed Goran Gotev, former adviser to the deputy prime minister and labour minister in Bulgaria, as a digital policy account director in its Brussels office. Gotev has also worked in the European Parliament and for FleishmanHillard, also in Brussels.

CSM teams up with USA Rugby

CSM Sport & Entertainment, part of Chime Communications, has been appointed as the exclusive commercial sales agent of USA Rugby's new commercial entity, Rugby International Marketing. CSM S&E has been tasked with growing USA Rugby's roster of sponsors and commercial partners and raise visibility of the sport in the US.

Cartwright hired by Firstaid4sport

Firstaid4sport, an online retailer offering professional standard first aid kits and equipment to sports clubs, physios, coaches and participants, has appointed Nottingham's Cartwright Communications. The agency, which now has 17 staff, will support the Lincoln-based supplier on a range of PR activities including highlighting its work with elite clubs.

SEO firm hires Jargon

Jargon PR has been appointed by boutique search marketing agency Blue Array Ltd. It will launch a campaign to build the company’s profile and increase brand recognition within the marketing, digital trade and business press.
