Lewis launches analytics service Observa, Japanese insurance firm Sompo appoints Newgate and Máquina Cohn & Wolfe's Vestas victory.

Lewis launches Observa

The global agency Lewis has launched Observa, a global analytics proposition it describes as a "modular suite of analytical capabilities to furnish clients with tools to better understand, manage and optimize their marketing and communication programmes". It spans four areas – market analysis, community health, business impact and market trends.

Sompo appoints Newgate

Sompo, one of the Japan’s largest insurance service providers, has appointed Newgate Communications for a combined corporate and financial comms and public affairs programme to raise its company profile in the UK. The Newgate team will be led by group MD Steffan Williams.

Westco's Ogilvy partnership

The agency Westco, which works with government and local government organisations, has begun a partnership working with Ogilvychange, the behavioural change subsidiary of Ogilvy Group. The two have run campaigns and trials in Westminster and Sutton in London, and say they hope to launch a joint training and development offer to other councils in September.

Simon Rayner launches PRInABox.com

Simon Rayner, the founder of Essence Communications, has launched PRInaBox, an online service aimed at equipping small business owners, sole traders and others to run their own PR operation. "Nobody is ever going to talk as passionately about your business as you do," he explained.

New premium cleaning products firm Tincture has appointed Rain Communications to handle the firm's October market launch.

Máquina Cohn & Wolfe’s Vestas victory

The Brazilian PR consultancy blew away wind turbine manufacturer and installer Vestas – the firm has appointed Máquina Cohn & Wolfe as its PR agency. Earlier this year, WPP-owned Cohn & Wolfe announced it had acquired a majority stake in Grupo Máquina, which is one of Brazil’s largest PR consultancies.
