ICAEW comms chief hired by Association of Chartered Certified Accountants

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) will welcome a new director of brand and corporate reputation in October, joining from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Harry McAdoo is currently director of comms at the ICAEW.

According to LinkedIn, he has held this role since 2005 having spent four years prior to that as its head of public affairs. Before that he worked for the agency Hill+Knowlton Strategies. He is also a trustee of the homelessness charity The Big Issue Foundation.

He said: "ACCA has a great global brand. I am looking forward to helping the organisation leverage it with its many stakeholders so that it can consolidate its position as the leading provider of professional accountants the world needs."

McAdoo will report to Alan Hatfield, ACCA's executive director of strategy and development.

His role incorporates global work, with ACCA active in 95 different countries. ACCA was founded in 1904 and has nearly 200,000 members in more than 180 countries. Its HQ is in London - just two miles from the ICAEW.
