Watch: Chipotle imagines the rise and fall of two fictional fast-food restaurants

The film follows the story of Evie and Ivan, two budding entrepreneurs who start out innocently enough selling orange juice and lemonade

When it comes to fast-food preparation, it is best to keep it simple. That is what Chipotle Mexican Grill is trying to convey in its latest animated short film, "A Love Story."

The film follows the story of Evie and Ivan, two budding entrepreneurs who start out innocently enough selling orange juice and lemonade, respectively, from juice stands on opposing sides of a street. When one of them sees success, it spurs the other to get more competitive and up the stakes, and vice versa. Years later, the pair have built rival fast-food empires. However, the founders soon realize that their once-simple concepts have grown into something neither of them initially intended – reliant on offers and processed food.

The film was made by Chipotle in conjunction with Passion Pictures and CAA Marketing, and was directed by Saschka Unseld.
