M&C Saatchi UK in discussions with PR agencies over new brief

Marcoms group M&C Saatchi is looking for a new PR agency to represent its advertising business in the UK, PRWeek has learned.

A source told PRWeek that the firm was "sounding out agencies" to provide external PR support. M&C Saatchi declined to comment.

Of M&C Saatchi's £179m revenue in 2015, just under half was generated in the UK.

While best known for advertising, the group includes comms agencies M&C Saatchi PR, M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment, and Talk PR. The former two were described as "star contributors" to the group's 17 per cent rise in pre-tax profit in 2015.

M&C Saatchi was created in 1995 by the ousted founders of Saatchi & Saatchi. Its advertising clients include Land Rover, Virgin Holidays and pro-EU campaigners ConservativesIn.

Earlier this month, M&C Saatchi ceased working with the PR firm Pumpkin on a UK-focused brief, although Pumpkin continues to work with the company on its international business, and on personal PR for chair Tim Duffy. Pumpkin and M&C Saatchi have worked together for several years.
