Hotwire promotes Matt Cross to UK MD role

Hotwire has promoted Matt Cross to the position of MD of UK business.

Reporting to Alex MacLaverty, Hotwire's group MD for EMEA, Cross will be responsible for the UK bottom line, generating new business as well as overseeing client relationships and ensuring a positive team dynamic.

Cross joined Hotwire in 2012 as a director and made the transition to deputy MD of the UK business a year later. Prior to this he spent eight years with the agency AxiCom, before which he worked in recruitment.

To date, he has been involved in winning a number of the agency’s international clients and helped to deploy a new company-wide comms strategy.

MacLaverty said: "The UK business has had an incredible year, smashing its targets, winning some amazing new clients and delivering award-winning work. Matt Cross has been a key part of this success – his hard work, innovation and calm yet ruthlessly determined manner have inspired the team to consistently deliver outstanding results."

With 2015 revenue of £7.2m, the agency was the 36th largest in the UK in 2015, according to PRWeek's Global Agency Business Report. It had 70 staff in the UK in the year, and a further 100 in other offices in the US and elsewhere.
