W recruits head of digital division from Deep Focus London

London and Singapore's W has appointed Joe Barnes as head of its digital division.

He will work closely with founder and CEO Warren Johnson, managing director Richard Tompkins and strategy director Adam Leigh to oversee multimedia output for clients including Unilever, Gruppo Campari and Levi’s. This will include work with the firm's Singapore office, which opened in August.

Barnes began his career at SapientNitro, also co-founded Social Secret, a Bournemouth based social agency, and was most recently at Engine Group-owned creative agency Deep Focus London.

Warren Johnson, W’s founder & CEO, said that the firm's digital and social campaigns had "become our trademark".

He joined the full-time agency last week, having worked with them on a freelance basis immediately after leaving Deep Focus in March.
