Former Fleishman head of brand marketing to take up director role at Freuds

Dave Bennett, formerly at FleishmanHillard Fishburn (FHF) and previously of Exposure, Edelman and MSLGroup, will next month join Freuds as a cross-practice director.

Bennett will work across Freuds' consumer practice and its strategic comms arms, The Brewery, and report to managing partner Caroline Wray. Freuds told PRWeek Bennett was an addition to the team and was not recruited to succeed an employee who had left the firm.

Bennett will join Freuds in May. An FHF spokesman said he left the agency, where he had worked as head of its brand marketing practice since October 2014, in December. Before that he worked as a freelance consultant, having spent time with Edelman, and before that worked for the predecessor of MSLGroup.

After FHF's creation through a merger was announced in November, Fishburn moved into FleishmanHillard's London office in December, at which point Lauren Winter and Isabel Wood were appointed joint heads of brand marketing.

He has worked with clients including Heineken, Microsoft Xbox, American Express and Philips Consumer Electronics.

Wray said: "Dave Bennett brings with him a wealth of knowledge with a background in both consumer and corporate PR. His strong strategic, creative and commercial skills and passion for creating cultural touch points will prove invaluable as we continue to push the boundaries of our industry."

Freuds' clients include UBS Wealth Management, Uber, Diageo, Amazon Prime and Google.

At the start of the year, the firm took on Eleanor Coates as group strategy director.
