CSM pairs with Alibaba

Chime's sports and entertainment group CSM has signed a partnership with Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba to develop and run a range of sport properties and develop mass participation events across China. It follows the announcement by Chinese president Xi Jinping that he wants to turn the country into a "great sports nation". The partnership will see events created across a number of sports at elite and grassroots level targeting Alibaba’s half a billion users and turning them into sportsmen and women and sports fans.

Aberfield starts triathlon work

Leeds' Aberfield Communications has been appointed by Leeds City Council and British Triathlon to deliver PR activity for the 2016 Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds, the UK leg of the sport's premier series of events. Aberfield will implement a five-month PR campaign encompassing traditional, experiential and online activities, as the city prepares to host the event on 12 June.

GUNG HO buys Coffin on Cake

The Birmingham sport and lifestyle PR agency GUNG HO Communications has acquired London's Coffin on Cake PR. Coffin on Cake will form a division of GUNG HO. The combined agency now has more than 30 staff. GUNG HO clients include New Balance, Speedo and Garmin, while Coffin on Cake works with Lee Cooper Selvedge, Roxy and others.

Chancellor's PR joins Missive

Andrew Cocks has joined the agency Missive, which was founded last year, in a role focused on supporting strategy briefs and business growth. Cocks was previously press officer to the Chancellor, George Osborne, having worked at the Cabinet Office. He also previously led the press office of O2, working with Missive founder Emma Hart.

Jaywing booked by tastecard

Leeds' Jaywing PR has begun work on an initial 12-month brief with dining scheme tastecard. It is the first time tastecard has appointed a PR agency, and the brief was awarded in February.

Rooster tees off with Topgolf

Topgolf, a three-site leisure company that offers quick-fire target golf with food, drink and entertainment, has brought in Rooster as its PR firm following a competitive pitch between five agencies. The work begins immediately, and Topgolf is targeting expansion beyond the South East.

Richmond Towers wins Tracklements

Richmond Towers has been appointed by chutneys, mustards and preserves makers Tracklements, to develop and implement a foodie-focused consumer and trade PR campaign in 2016.
