CHICAGO: Gagen MacDonald has folded Positive Eye Consulting into its ranks in an effort to ramp up its capabilities in corporate comms and strategy execution.

Maril MacDonald, CEO and founder of Gagen MacDonald, noted Positive Eye’s background in finance, business, leadership development, and behavioral change as the characteristics that made it attractive to her agency.

The two shops were also familiar with each other from recent work.

"It’s very exciting, and it’s a wonderful opportunity for our clients and for our people," MacDonald said. "It helps, too, we’ve worked together on a project for the past five months."

She added that the new staffers will bolster its efforts in counseling and supporting executives on communications and strategy execution.

Positive Eye is headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, with offices in Salt Lake City and Portland, Oregon.

Positive Eye’s CEO, Jean Meeks-Koch, is joining Gagen MacDonald as leader of the building capabilities team and is reporting to president Sherry Scott. Meeks-Koch has also led a commercial construction company, Meeks Contracting in Las Vegas, from 1990 to 1996 and has been a professor at four universities.

"She also has a PHD in organizational systems and behavior — it’s a fantastic mix," MacDonald said

Meeks-Koch was unavailable for comment as of press time.

MacDonald said Positive Eye has two full-time staff members and other employees on contract, bringing Gagen MacDonald’s total number of full-time employees to 42.
