Bell Pottinger has hired Darrell Wright as a partner and managing director of the agency’s Malaysia practice.
Wright joins from JP Morgan, where he spent almost three years as head of communications for Southeast Asia.
He has significant financial sector experience, having previously worked in senior APAC comms roles at Barclays and RBS.
In addition, Bell Pottinger has promoted Puneet Pal Singh to partner in the firm’s Singapore office.
Singh joined the agency in August last year, having previously been managing partner at Saanjh Communications and a business reporter for the BBC in Singapore.
Both Wright and Singh’s positions came as part of a wider announcement of promotions across Bell Pottinger globally, with new partners being named in London, Hong Kong and Dubai.
Sam Turvey, currently managing director of Bell Pottinger in Dubai, will relocate to Hong Kong in May to take up the position of managing director.
James Henderson, Bell Pottinger’s Group CEO, said: "I am delighted to announce these promotions and appointments. They are testament to our ability to attract and nurture brilliant talent which contributes to the continued success and growth of our international business."
