First Hall of Femme inductees are role models for the entire industry

Our inaugural Hall of Femme honors an amazing group of people who represent everything that's great about the profession.

Our inaugural Hall of Femme honors the most inspiring and talented women in the communications industry.

The first group of nine inductees represents the best of the best in PR practice and achievement. They are not just role models for other women in PR — they are role models for everyone in the industry.

They have been able to prioritize their careers and families through talent, incredible drive, and by working frighteningly hard. As one of our inductees, Bechtel’s Charlene Wheeless, says: "With thought, persistence, and resilience, it is possible to make a significant impact at a company" — and these women have done just that and much more, both in-house and while working for clients at their agencies.

They find it hard to countenance failure. When asked to identify a wipeout "agony of defeat" moment, many wouldn’t be specific, and those that were emphasized the need to — in the words of the song — "pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again."

The inaugural Hall of Femme is supplemented by our Champions of PR: women from across the PR spectrum who set the bar higher for clients and colleagues and go above and beyond to ensure results exceed business goals and that their efforts achieve creative excellence.

Our Hall of Femme and Champions of PR recipients will be honored at a breakfast in New York City on May 10. It will be a wonderful chance to celebrate an amazing group of people who represent everything that’s great about the profession. Long may they prosper and continue to define best practice.
