Champollion hires journalist and Conservative commentator

Public policy comms agency Champollion has hired Conservative commentator, author and journalist Jo-Anne Nadler as a director. She will head the agency’s planning division. Nadler has worked in comms for the Conservative Party and as a programme maker and reporter with the BBC. She is a biographer of William Hague and was a Conservative councillor in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

Hotwire’s Watson and Stollery are UK Young Lions

Matt Watson and Paul Stollery of Hotwire have won a national competition among under-thirties to represent the UK at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, sponsored by ICCO. The duo won the UK Young Lions PR Competition for their ‘The ChildLine Takeover’ campaign. This year’s UK competition saw 41 entries from teams of two, responding in 24 hours to a brief from the NSPCC (which operates ChildLine). The silver winners, Cohn & Wolfe’s Emma Naomi Van Braningen and Felicity Haslehurst, will be taken to the festival as a support team to the winners.

Penguin director moves to Riot

Riot Communications has appointed Thi Dinh as campaigns director. Currently deputy publicity director at Penguin Press, Dinh will join to cover maternity leave and initially be employed on a temporary basis, from 31 May.

Clementine wins Caviar Sturia UK brief

Clementine Communications has been appointed to handle the 2016/2017 PR campaign for caviar brand Caviar Sturia in the UK. The agency was hired following a competitive pitch. "Our mission is to raise its profile over the next year, gaining the recognition it deserves and helping it gain a solid recognition in the UK as a new retailer in Harrods," said Clementine MD Clemence de Crécy.

Mason Williams hired for hotel launch

Mason Williams Communications has been hired to handle PR for the launch of One Warwick Park, a 39-bedroom hotel set to open in Tunbridge Wells’ Pantiles in June. The agency already handles PR for other hotel brands including the Accor Group’s Ibis, Novotel, Mercure and MGallery formats.
