PRWeek and Women in PR kick off 2016 Mentoring Project

PRWeek UK and Women in PR's Mentoring Project is open for applications for the 2016 scheme.

Now in its third year, the scheme aims to empower women to climb the PR ladder and take prominent leadership roles within the industry.

Applications for mentees are now open. The deadline is 15 April, with the full list of mentors set to be finalised in the coming weeks.

Each chosen PR professional will be matched with a mentor – an experienced female PR figure – who will offer guidance through face-to-face meetings and other forms of contact.

Throughout the year, the success of the scheme will be documented in PRWeek, with mentors and mentees sharing their insights.

Last year, PRWeek spoke to senior female PR professionals Lara Molins Caplin (founder, LMC PR), Carolan Davidge (director of marketing and engagement, British Heart Foundation), Shelley Frosdick (director of PR, PHA Media), Clara Bui (PR manager, Talk Talk), Nicola Green (director of comms and reputation, O2) and Amanda Kamin (director, Burson-Marsteller) about the challenges women face in the industry and the best advice they have been given.
