Ogilvy PR hires RF/Binder's Karen Paff for Media Influence team

The WPP agency also widened the responsibilities of Media Influence SVP Tara Mullins.

NEW YORK: Ogilvy Public Relations has hired RF/Binder’s Karen Paff as an SVP on its Media Influence team in New York.

She most recently worked as senior MD and chief media strategist on RF/Binder’s media team.

Paff will manage operations in the New York office, drive new business, and counsel clients while supporting Jennifer Scott, head of Ogilvy PR New York.

"[Paff] will bring the level of senior media adviser to our roster of New York clients and really be the anchor for the New York office," said Jennifer Risi, head of the Ogilvy Media Influence team. "We need a very strong media practitioner, and I need a partner in this office."

Paff had worked at RF/Binder since November 2014. Previously, she was associate director of media relations at Columbia University and interim director of marketing and marketing manager at Mojo Interactive, according to her LinkedIn profile. Paff also has two decades of journalism experience, including stints at The CBS Evening News and 60 Minutes.

Ogilvy also promoted Tara Mullins, though her title of SVP of Ogilvy Media Influence North America will remain the same. An Ogilvy veteran since 2011, Mullins will support Risi, work on new business, and counsel clients.

"We want to create the best media relations team in the industry," Risi said. "I’ll have that one-two punch. [Paff] will be the anchor of the New York team and [Mullins] will support me across North America."
